The role of CNC operator involves operating and maintaining CNC machinery to produce high-quality timber components, bespoke doors and frames. Interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring products meet quality and safety standards are also an important part of the position.
Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines for the production of wooden components
Accurately read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work orders to determine machine settings and production requirements.
Inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers) to ensure they meet specified dimensions, quality standards, and client expectations.
Corrective/Preventive action - work with all departments to report and prevent wasted/down time
Ensure maintenance is carried out correctly and Health and Safety practices are observed
Carry out any other reasonable duties that might be needed from time to time to assist the company in attaining its business objectives.
Requirements
Proven experience in fabrication, machining, or manufacturing environments, preferably as a CNC Operator or similar role.
Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity of programming is desired
Experience with milling operations, tooling selection, and materials handling.
Basic maths skills for interpreting measurements, tolerances, and technical drawings.
Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Training will be given to bring successful candidate up to speed with company products and processes.
