We are looking for a capable and organised CNC Operator to set-up, operate, and maintain CNC machinery to produce high-quality precision components and parts according to technical drawings and specifications. Based in Newbury, your primary responsibility will be to set up, operate, and maintain CNC machinery to produce high-quality precision components and parts according to technical drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC router according to job requirements and specifications.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and create CAD/CAM files.
Load raw materials and oversee machine operations to ensure accurate production.
Inspect setup and finished parts using measuring instruments (verniers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) to verify conformance to specifications.

Adjust machine settings, tool offsets, and cutting paths to maintain quality and efficiency.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to prevent breakdowns.
Record production data, including quantities, quality checks, and machine performance.
Report faults, tooling issues, or material issues to the Production Manager.
Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in production processes and quality.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Proven experience as a CNC Operator or Machinist in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Knowledge of range of materials and how they react when routed or carved.
Ability to interpret and setup technical drawings and CNC programs.
Competent with precision measuring tools and quality inspection processes.
Understanding of G-code and CNC machine controls (e.g., Fanuc, Heidenhain, Siemens).
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Excellent attention to detail and confidentiality.
Comfortable managing multiple priorities independently.
Desirable:
Experience within a signage manufacturing company.
Experience with multiple CNC machine types (Laser, routers, Letter Benders etc.).
