Established in 1981, Pattern Fasteners is one of the leading fastener manufacturers in the West Midlands, specialising in non-standard fasteners and precision components.
Our facility runs 24/7 lights-out manufacturing, using state-of-the-art CNC fixed & sliding head lathes, CNC milling, thread rolling, pressing, and specialised drilling. We pride ourselves on our ability to deliver bespoke components with short lead times and exceptional quality.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machine Operator to operate fixed and sliding head machines on an evening shift.

You'll be responsible for machining precision components to tight tolerances, ensuring consistent output, and maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate CNC Sliding and Fixed head machines Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents Machine precision components to tight tolerances Perform basic program adjustments and offsets as required Deburr and finish machined parts to required standards Carry out quality checks using micrometers, verniers, gauges, and other measuring equipment Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area Work efficiently to meet production schedules and report any issues to the supervisor

Skills & Experience Required:

Proven experience operating CNC lathes (Citizen, Star or Doosan preferred) Ability to read and understand technical drawings Good knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and finishing techniques Experience with deburring and part finishing Competent in the use of measuring and inspection equipment Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently on evening shifts Basic programming/editing experience (Fanuc control) is advantageous
