Position Overview

Bryant Precision in Peterlee is seeking an experienced Elumatec CNC operator to join our production team. The successful candidate will operate and program Elumatec CNC machining centres to produce high-quality aluminium components with precision and efficiency. This role requires technical ability, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining Bryant Precision's high manufacturing standards.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation & Setup

Set up and operate Elumatec CNC machines (including SBZ 140 series) for cutting, drilling, milling, and machining aluminium profiles. Load materials and select appropriate tools, cutters, and machine parameters. Input, edit, and optimise CNC programs according to technical drawings. Conduct first-off checks to verify accuracy before full production runs.

Quality Control

Read and interpret engineering drawings and production documentation. Inspect finished aluminium components using precision measuring tools (calipers, gauges, micrometers). Ensure all parts meet required dimensional and quality standards. Identify errors, deviations, or issues and make necessary adjustments.

Maintenance & Safety

Perform routine machine maintenance such as cleaning, lubrication, and basic troubleshooting. Report any mechanical or operational issues directly to the

Production Supervisor

. Follow all company safety procedures and industry regulations. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

Documentation & Workflow

Accurately record production data, material usage, and inspection results. Coordinate with the Production Supervisor, programmers, and fellow operators to meet production targets. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing waste.

Qualifications & SkillsRequired

Proven experience operating Elumatec CNC machinery or similar CNC machining equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and cutting lists. Strong understanding of aluminium machining processes. Proficiency using precision measuring equipment. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

Preferred

Experience within aluminium fabrication, fenestration, precision engineering, or related manufacturing sectors. Mechanical or technical vocational training. Familiarity with Elumatec programming software or CAD/CAM systems.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift aluminium profiles up to approximately 25-30 kg. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual handling tasks.
