CNC Programmer - Production Department
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our Production team at Teknoware UK. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical/engineering background who thrives in a hands-on production environment.
The ideal candidate will collaborate effectively with colleagues across different organisational functions; therefore, excellent communication skills are essential. The CNC Programmer will be responsible for creating, optimising, and maintaining CNC programs to ensure the efficient and accurate manufacture of components. We are looking for a person who is willing to get involved in all aspects of the machining process, not just programming but also getting involved in other production-related tasks, to support business needs.
Our projects vary in size and complexity - from small, quick-turn machining jobs to long-term production runs requiring the highest levels of precision and consistency. You will work closely with colleagues in engineering, quality, and production.

Responsibilities & Requirements
Experienced CNC Machine programmer (Alphacam & Powermill, Metcalfe, Cosmos etc).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with an understanding of applied tolerances.
Working with DXF, Stp Files & 3D Models
Support in ensuring products are compliant with Customer specifications and Industry Standards.
A good level of I.T skills is essential - proficient in Word, Excel as a minimum and an understanding of MRP / ERP systems.
Control and implementation of new products through the NPR / Gateway process
Control Customer & Internal changes through the BCN (Business Change Notice) process.
To support the business demands when required, in the operation of the production process equipment.
To identify and purchase tooling required to achieve a product that meets the customers' requirements.
Manage workload and meet agreed deadlines.
Support problem solving activities (5 Whys, Fishbone, Root Cause) to ensure robust corrective and preventive actions are in place.
Support in creating PFMEA, FMEA, SOPs.
To assist in driving process improvements through all areas of the business.
To attend & instigate relevant meetings and report on actions assigned.
Additional tasks maybe required to which training will be given to increase your skill set and assist the business in continually improving.
Knowledge & Experience Required
Proven experience as a CNC Programmer in a production/manufacturing environment of minimum of 5 years.
Strong knowledge of CNC milling and/or turning machines (Fanuc, Siemens, or Heidenhain controls advantageous).
Experience using CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidCAM, Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and 3D models.
Good understanding of materials, machining practices, and tooling selection.
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Flexibility to support production with hands-on machine operation when required.
Excellent communication skills
Qualifications
Engineering qualifications at minimum of HE level (mechanical or electrical) is a must.
Relevant CNC Programmer experience at minimum of 3-5 years.
