The Role:
We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated CNC Programmer & operator to take ownership of our CNC operations and support the workshop with CAD design. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who can hit the ground running with minimal onboarding.
Key Responsibilities:
CNC Operations
Operate and maintain our Man-Tech Apollo CNC machine (including basic routine maintenance).
Program toolpaths using Vectric V-Carve or similar CAM software.
Ensure the CNC room is clean, tidy, and well-organised.
Manage and maintain cutter inventory to avoid supply issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve CNC-related issues efficiently.
CAD Design & Workshop Support
Create your own CAD drawings (using SketchUp or similar) based on design briefs - Not essential but would help.
Collaborate with the carpentry team to ensure drawings are build-ready.
Support set building and carpentry tasks when needed, particularly during busy periods.
Assist with occasional on-site installations or setups as required.
What We're Looking For:
Proven CNC operating and programming experience (Vectric or equivalent)
Strong understanding of workshop safety and CNC maintenance
Competency in CAD software (ideally SketchUp or similar)
Experience in the events or exhibitions industry is strongly preferred
A team player who can also work independently and take initiative
Flexible and committed -- able to work occasional overtime and on-site when deadlines demand
