Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Setter to join our traditional brass hinge manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and setting up machinery and equipment to ensure efficient production processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and experience in fabrication, assembly, and materials handling. The Setter will play a crucial part in maintaining high standards of quality and safety within the production environment.

Responsibilities

Set up, calibrate, and adjust machinery using hand tools, Sinumerik (Siemens controllers) to meet production specifications. Operate milling machines, welding equipment, and other fabrication tools to produce or modify fixtures as required. Conduct routine inspections of tooling and materials to ensure compliance with quality standards. Assist with materials handling, including loading, unloading, and organising raw materials and finished products within the warehouse or production area. Collaborate with team members to optimise manufacturing processes and troubleshoot technical issues promptly. Maintain a clean, organised workspace adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge and familiarity in using manual machines or CNCs Experience working with Siemens controllers is desirable. Knowledge of milling techniques and materials handling procedures. Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks. Ability to interpret technical drawings and technical specifications accurately advantageous. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure precision in setup processes.
