CNC Setter/Operator

Reporting to:

Machine Shop Manager, Manufacturing Manager

The Company

Instrument Technology Ltd (ITL) was established in the 1960's, specialising in the manufacture of special electro-optical tubes for university and science research applications

During the 80's and 90's ITL expanded rapidly with the introduction of a full range of specialist components utilised in an ever growing global vacuum research market

Since then ITL has been serving the world's leading vacuum equipment suppliers, who in turn are supporting a booming semiconductor industry

With continued YoY growth predicted we are recruiting to meet industry demands

The Role

As CNC Setting Operative you will ensure the efficient running of CNC machines to full capability. Constantly evaluating the quality assurance of all ITL processes and products and recommend/implement improvements whilst working to the quality system

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of a CNC Setting Operator include:

Using measuring equipment for quality control checks.

Writing and editing CNC programs.

Setting CNC turning machines (including twin spindle CNC lathes).

Working with CAM software.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a CNC Setting Operator include:

Knowledge of industrial machining techniques.

Strong understanding of programming (including driven tools).

Reliability, precision, and attention to detail.

Ability to work with minimal supervision and to follow instructions.

Flexible approach to work hours.

Extensive knowledge of tooling, inspection techniques and machine shop best practice are essential.

Understanding of Fanuc control systems would be an advantage.

An Engineering background is advantageous

Vacuum industry tolerances and experience advantageous

Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings

Knowledge of & adherence to relevant health & safety standards

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work effectively under limited supervision

Honest, reliable, hardworking and trustworthy

Must be self-motivated and proactive

A good communicator to ensure jobs are accurate, on time and of high quality

Salary: Negotiable upon experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 12.21-16.00 per hour
