Role Summary
As a CNC Setter Operator, you'll be a key member of our shop-floor engineering team, supporting CNC machining operations.
You'll apply your practical machining experience to help optimise production, ensure right-first-time quality, and contribute to the development of advanced processes for aerospace components.
Key Responsibilities
Operate, set and optimise 3-, 4- and 5-axis CNC machines producing high-precision components in aluminium, Steel and super alloys.
Work closely with senior engineers to improve machining methods, tooling and fixtures for performance and repeatability.
Support metrology activities - first-off inspections, use of gauges & CMM equipment.
Analyse production data to drive efficiency, cycle-time reduction, and quality improvements.
Collaborate with Quality and Inspection teams to resolve non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
Maintain a clean, safe, and Lean manufacturing environment.
Contribute ideas to continuous improvement and process innovation.
Person Specification
Essential:
Recently completed Level 3 (or higher) Apprenticeship / BTEC / Diploma in Engineering or Manufacturing with a focus on CNC Machining
Practical CNC machining experience - setting and operating 3-, 4- or 5-axis machines.
Knowledge of machining aerospace alloys (e.g. aluminium, stainless steel).
Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T, and measurement equipment (verniers, micrometres, gauges).
Enthusiastic, detail-focused, and committed to learning and development.
Strong communication skills and teamwork on a busy shop floor.
