Job Summary:
A Skilled CNC Turning Machine Technician, working across multi-axis CNC Turning Machines and Departments comprising of a variety of machining centres. Responsible for adhering to production plans, work to lists and instructions. Direct reporting and support for production control, team leaders and production leaders.
Primary Responsibilities:
Setting and operating multi-axis CNC Turning Machines.
Technical problem Solving.
A point of technical support to the department team leader/shift supervisor.
A point of support for team leaders/shift supervisors for commitment information/data gathering.
Adhering to safety & quality policies & procedures
Adhering to work to lists and instructions.
Upkeep of TPM routines
Upkeep the working area (6S).
Seeking improvement opportunities within the working area.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experienced Multi Axis CNC Turning Machinist
Comprehensive product and working practice knowledge.
Setting & Operating CNC Turning/Lathe machines with a high-level understanding of machining processes.
Experience with Mori Seiki ZT250 & SL250 Lathes
Setting Sliding Head Lathe machines.
Able to prove out and aid in Technical Machining Related Issues
Capable and experienced in operating with Mori Seiki, Fanuc, Mazak controls.
Competent in working to tight tolerances.
Experienced programmer with excellent understanding of NC code & ISO Programming.
Able to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
Able to carry out self-inspection of complex components.
Able to use and read a wide variety of measuring equipment such as, Vernier calipers, Micrometers, Depth Micrometers, Height Gauges, Gauges, Shadow Graphs.
Excellent cutting tooling knowledge.
Excellent product, process and working practice knowledge.
Highly skilled and experienced in machining various materials, such as, Aluminum, Titanium & Steels.
Essential team player.
Adaptable, Flexible and Reliable.
Happy to work off own initiative.
Experience and Education
Experience in the manufacturing/aerospace industry.
Time served and apprenticeship trained.
Advanced machining qualifications.
Min 5 years' experience in a workshop environment.
