The Basics

Salary - 10.00 to 18.00 depending on experience

Reporting to - Programme Manager / Delivery Lead

Location - Based in Midlands with daily travel to delivery sites in Leicester and Coventry with some planning work from home. You will also be required to work evenings.

Hours -8 hours per week with at least 2 evenings per week (Ideally on Tuesday evenings, Wednesday 9-4 and Thursday evenings)

Overview

We are looking for a Coach to join our squad in Midlands where we deliver our interventions in a variety of different settings, both during the school timetable and after school. This will be a minimum of 8 hours per week.

You will be working with some of the hardest to reach young people who are most at risk of exclusion, in small groups of 8-10. We use sport as a hook and mentorship as an anchor. You will help to deliver sports based sessions combined with employability workshops to enable young people to be in a better position to enter sustained education, employment or training (EET) when they leave school. The delivery team always work in pairs, running our interventions across a variety of settings.

You do not need to be a rugby fanatic for this role, but you do need to be passionate about social mobility of the excluded. We are looking for someone with a youth work, teaching or sports coaching background to help strengthen our team as we work towards our forward strategy.

Who you are

Essential

Drivers license and access to a car required

Previous experience delivering youth work, sport sessions or supporting young people in an educational setting.

A passion to help change young peoples lives and helping them to build a positive, productive future.

Able to demonstrate effective and engaging coaching skills across a range of sports.

Enthusiasm for using sport as a tool for social change, in particular rugby and its values.

Being approachable, positive, empathetic and patient.

Ability to resolve conflict peacefully.

Reliable and excellent time keeping.

Desirable

Sports coaching or youth work qualification/training.

Previous experience delivering young work, mentoring or sports based sessions to at risk young people in a range of settings.

An understanding of the exclusion landscape.
