An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join Carmarthenshire County Council's Flood and Coastal Risk Management Team. This new role focuses on coastal adaptation and management.

Key Responsibilities:



Support the Flood Defence and Coastal Protection Manager in the strategic management of our coastline To lead on the delivery of the actions within the Shoreline Management Plan for the Authority To lead on the development and delivery of a community engagement programme which will seek to advise Carmarthenshire's citizens and businesses on the effects of climate change, coastal erosion and flood risk. Listen to and understand community concerns, providing basic advice and dispelling myths as needed. Seek future and sustainable funding to continue this work in the medium to long term.

Requirements:



Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Comfortable working in the office, in the field, and within communities. Willingness to work from the office in Carmarthen on specific team days.

Working Arrangement:

We operate a hybrid working arrangement. The successful candidate will be expected to work from the office in Carmarthen on specific team days and be in the field and our communities on other days.
