Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Years Practitioner to join our team to work in partnership with the Manager and Co-Deputy-SENCo, to ensure that the setting runs according to Statutory and guidance guidelines and in line with the settings own policies and procedures.
As a Key Person, you will Safeguard all children in a fun and happy setting, embracing the outside, with a holistic approach to learning. Inspiring independence, resilience and self confidence in a nurturing environment. Duties:
1) To have safeguarding forefront in all parts of your job, considering the children's safety first and that of families, staff, volunteers and visitors.
2) To act as a designated safeguarding lead and work with the Management team to ensure that all are safeguarded.
3) To work as part of the Management team to ensure that the setting is compliant to the EYFS statutory framework and in line with the settings Policies and procedures.
4) To complete annual and daily risk assessments for the setting and any ad hoc ones as required.
5) To manage the health and safety of the setting under the Manager's supervision.
6) To be the lead practitioner in the playroom and maintain ratios throughout the setting.
7) To act as key person for a small group of children liaising with parents/carers when necessary to ensure that each child's needs are recognised and met.
8) To supervise Pre-school activities and interact with children, offering a suitable level of support and stimulation.
9) To assist with the planning and implementation of the Pre-school activity curriculum, ensuring it conforms to the EYFS.
10) To ensure that the curriculum planning suits all key children responsible to you, and to make adaptations where necessary.
11) Completion of tracking forms relating to the development of your assigned Key Children termly and in preparation for school transition.
Requirements:
-Have Safeguarding knowledge and confidence in what that looks like in childcare
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
- At least 2 years previous experience working in childcare or nursery settings
- Passion for working with young children and supporting their development
- Excellent communication skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
- Ability to observe, assess, and document children's progress accurately
