We are seeking a dedicated Deli Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers while preparing and serving a variety of deli products. Your culinary skills and attention to food safety will ensure that our offerings are not only delicious but also safe for consumption. This position requires a keen ability to manage time effectively and engage with customers through upselling techniques.

Role Overview:

We're looking for a reliable and energetic team member to help run the daily operations of our shop. You'll be in charge of opening and/or closing the shop, preparing sandwiches and salads, making coffee, and providing warm, efficient customer service

Duties

Prepare and serve deli items, including meats, cheeses, and salads, in accordance with food safety standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and sanitised. Assist customers with their selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations and upselling additional products when appropriate. Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently while adhering to company policies. Monitor inventory levels and assist in restocking supplies as needed. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods. Follow all health and safety regulations related to food preparation .
Responsibilities:

Open and close the shop (including setup, clean-down, and cash handling) Prepare sandwiches, salads, and light food items to a high standard Make coffee and other beverages (barista experience preferred but not essential) Welcome and serve customers with a friendly attitude Keep the shop clean, stocked, and organised throughout the day Follow food hygiene and safety standards Support the day-to-day running of the deli and work independently when needed
Requirements:

Previous experience in a deli, cafe, or food service role Good energy and communication skills Comfortable working both mornings and weekends Basic food prep and barista skills Strong sense of responsibility and punctuality Ability to work independently and as part of a team Fluent in English; other languages are a plus

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: 13.00-13.50 per hour
