Job Overview

As a Coffee Expert, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional coffee and customer service experiences. Your passion for coffee, strong front-of-house presence, and knowledge of brewing techniques will help create a welcoming atmosphere where customers feel valued and enjoy high-quality beverages. You will be responsible for ensuring all coffee products meet our standards of excellence, while also supporting the overall customer journey from greeting to service and payment, and maintaining food safety regulations.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, ensuring consistency and quality in every cup. Greet and engage with customers in a warm, friendly manner to create a positive first impression. Assist customers with their selections, providing recommendations based on their preferences and tastes. Operate the till system, handle transactions, and ensure accuracy in processing orders and payments. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee preparation and front-of-house areas, adhering to food safety standards. Ensure the seating area remains clean, presentable, and welcoming at all times. Manage inventory levels of coffee beans and supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure availability. Conduct regular equipment maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance and safety. Monitor time effectively to ensure timely service and smooth flow during peak hours.

Skills

Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable attitude. Strong understanding of food safety practices to maintain a hygienic working environment. Basic maths skills for accurate measurement of ingredients and handling cash/card transactions. Excellent time management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods. Proficient in food and drink preparation techniques, particularly in relation to coffee brewing methods. Confident in managing front-of-house responsibilities including greeting guests, managing queues, and responding to customer queries or concerns. A genuine passion for coffee, with the ability to share knowledge and engage customers in conversation about different blends and brewing styles
