Duties

Greet and seat guests in a friendly and welcoming manner. Take accurate food and drink orders, ensuring attention to detail. Serve food and beverages promptly, adhering to food safety standards. Upsell menu items to enhance the dining experience and increase sales. Maintain knowledge of the menu, including ingredients and preparation methods. Assist with food preparation as needed, ensuring cleanliness in the kitchen area. Handle guest inquiries and complaints with professionalism and courtesy. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and quality of dishes. Keep tables clean and organised throughout the dining experience. Perform basic math calculations for bill processing and payments.

Qualifications

Previous restaurant experience is preferred, with a strong understanding of hospitality principles. Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices is essential. Basic culinary skills or kitchen experience will be advantageous. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently. Strong guest service skills with the ability to create a positive atmosphere for diners. Ability to upsell menu items effectively while maintaining guest satisfaction. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are required. A passion for the culinary arts and an eagerness to learn more about food preparation techniques is desirable.
