Overview

Marjoe's is a small and friendly indie coffee shop based in Bramhall. For the last 8 years we have offered our loyal guests great coffee, food & wine with a friendly and focused customer service. We're seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Coffee Shop Assistant to join our small and friendly team. We have 2 roles available, both for 20 hours per week (additional hours can be offered if necessary). You will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional customer service while assisting in the daily operations of our coffee shop from making coffee and drinks, prepping food items for dine in and take away, serving deli items such as cheese, serving and prepping charcuterie platters and serving wine.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation. Assist with food preparation, including pastries, sandwiches, salad bowls and light meals for dine in and take away, adhering to food safety regulations. Provide outstanding customer service by taking orders, answering queries, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee shop, including dining areas and preparation spaces. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods. Promote menu items and specials to enhance customer experience.

Experience

Previous experience in a cafe, bar or restaurant environment is essential, showcasing your ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting. Barista experience is highly desirable, with knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and equipment operation. A background in hospitality or catering essential in providing excellent service. Understanding of food safety practices is essential to maintain health standards within the shop. Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with customers and team members alike.
Both roles are for between 20 & 30 hours per week and will include working to a rota which could include evenings (up to 6.30pm on some shifts) and weekends ie one weekend on, one weekend off etc.

Pay: From 12.21 per hour
