Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Barista to join our team at Ori Caffe within the John Lewis Store Reading. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and serving, with a keen interest in coffee and beverage crafting. As a Barista, you will be responsible for creating high-quality drinks, maintaining cleanliness, and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks Ensure adherence to food safety standards during food preparation and serving Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workspace, including equipment and utensils Engage with customers to take orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences Handle cash transactions accurately using basic math skills Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies

Experience

Previous barista experience is highly desirable but not essential; training will be provided Familiarity with food safety practices is an advantage Experience in serving and food preparation is beneficial Strong basic math skills for handling transactions Excellent time management skills to thrive in a busy environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to 12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
