Exciting Opportunity: General Manager - Haystack Cafe, Cardiff (New Opening)

We're thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of our

third Haystack Cafe

, right in the heart of Cardiff, and we're looking for a passionate and experienced

General Manager

to lead the charge.

About the Role

As General Manager, you'll take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the cafe, helping us bring our much-loved brunch concept to a brand-new audience. You'll oversee all operations -- from staff management and customer experience to stock control and financial performance -- and play a key role in launching and shaping our newest site.

This is a

hands-on leadership role

in a fast-paced, high-volume cafe environment (we seat up to 100 guests and are packed out most weekends). You'll be managing a

close-knit, passionate team

, working five days a week with a competitive salary or hourly wage, depending on experience.

Start Date:

Approx. August 2025 (subject to building work completion -- flexibility may be required)

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all front- and back-of-house operations Recruit, train, and motivate a dynamic team Ensure consistently excellent customer service Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships Work closely with the Area manager and head chef to develop the menu and maintain food quality Uphold our core values of community, sustainability, and quality

About You

Proven experience in hospitality management (cafe or casual dining preferred) Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to thrive under pressure in a busy environment Passion for brunch culture, local food, and warm, personal service A problem solver with a keen eye for detail and a drive to constantly improve
