Coffee Shop Supervisor
to join our team and help lead day-to-day operations.
The Role
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role with supervisory responsibilities. You'll be primarily working front of house supporting our coffee shop manager -- greeting customers, preparing drinks, running the till, general housekeeping and overseeing smooth day-to-day service.
The ideal candidate will also have a solid understanding of food preparation and be confident stepping into the kitchen during busy periods or staff holidays.
The position is for Tuesday's, Wednesday's, Friday's and Saturday's, totalling approx. 25 hours - with the expectation that the successful candidate can pick up extra shifts and hours to cover holidays or staff absence when required.
Key Responsibilities
Front of House:
Supporting our coffee shop manager in leading the front-of-house team during shifts
Providing a warm and friendly welcome to customers
Taking orders and operating the till system
Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks (barista experience required)
Ensuring the shop floor is clean, tidy, and well-stocked
Dealing with customer enquiries and resolving any issues professionally
Kitchen Support:
Preparing light meals, snacks, and baked goods when required
Following food hygiene and safety procedures
Supporting stock rotation and kitchen cleanliness
Assisting with opening/closing kitchen duties as needed
Supervisory Duties:
Opening and closing the shop when required
Learning and understanding day-to-day running of the coffee shop, including supplier and ordering information
Having an input into menus and seasonal specials
Supporting and guiding our Front-of-House team
Ensuring high standards of service, cleanliness, and safety
Communicating effectively with the owners and managers about daily operations and any issues
What We're Looking For:
Previous coffee shop or hospitality experience, ideally in a supervisory role with barista experience
Strong front-of-house skills and a passion for great customer service
Confident in basic food preparation and kitchen routines
A happy disposition - friendly, proactive, and able to lead by example
Excellent time management and multitasking skills
