The Westgate School is seeking an exceptional Behaviour Therapist to join our dedicated wider welfare team to play a pivotal role in transforming lives through education.

As the Behaviour Therapist, you will be at the heart of this mission, supporting our teachers in meeting the additional needs of all pupils, particularly those representing vulnerable groups.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Provide specialised behavioural intervention for young people identified as requiring additional support. Working on a 1:1 basis with young people who will benefit from intervention work, focussing on behaviour modification. Conduct behavioural assessments to identify realistic targets and goals for young people. Plan and deliver behavioural therapy sessions to help young people understand and reflect on their decisions, with a focus on change and improvement of behaviour. To be a trusted person for young people to access for support and wellbeing. Provide advice to teaching staff on how they can adapt their approach to teaching identified young people, who require additional support. Liaise with parents to provide supportive strategies in dealing with their child's behaviour.

This is a term time only role (39 weeks to include INSET/Twilights)


Hours of work are 8.00am - 4pm, Monday to Thursday and 8.00am - 3.30pm on a Friday (37 hours)
