Introduction
Imperial College Health Centre are hiring for a part time CBT Therapist. This position is ideal for someone with a special interest in young person's mental health.
The post is for 2 days/week for 14 hours (10 patients plus 4 hours administration). All therapy here is short-term (6 sessions) and the therapist must be prepared to work flexibly with patients. Experience in EMDR or DBT is desirable. Computerised note keeping and data collection is required.
The therapist will be working alongside GPs, nurses, primary care mental health practitioners, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapists, and psychiatrists.

Clinical Lead: The Psychotherapy Liaison Partner
Administrative Lead: Practice Manager
Job Summary
The post holder will deliver high-quality, evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) services to patients of Imperial College Health Centre. The therapist will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, managing a clinical caseload, and providing specialist psychological assessments and treatments in line with National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Practice
Provide comprehensive, disorder-specific psychological assessments to determine suitability for CBT.
Deliver evidence-based, high-intensity CBT interventions on a one-to-one basis.
To provide short-term (up to 6 sessions) of CBT and if more is needed, liaise with the referring doctor.
Adhere to a stepped-care approach, ensuring patients are signposted to the most appropriate level of care within primary or secondary mental health services.
Formulate and implement personalised therapy programs based on a sound understanding of the client's problems.
Conduct ongoing risk assessments and develop appropriate risk management plans.
Work closely with other healthcare professionals within the GP practice and liaise with where appropriate external agencies, providing specialist advice and consultation on psychological care.
Professional and Service Development
Actively participate in regular clinical supervision as required by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and service policies.
Engage in continuing professional development (CPD) to maintain and enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
Contribute to service improvement by participating in audits, service evaluation, and other initiatives.
Collect and record clinical activity and routine outcome measures (e.g., CORE) to inform clinical decision-making and national benchmarking.
Attend relevant team meetings to ensure strong collaboration and integration of the service.
Administrative
Manage a clinical caseload and waiting list effectively, working in conjunction with administrative support staff.
Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records, adhering to GDPR and Trust policies.
Prepare and send assessment letters and discharge summaries to the referring clinician in a timely manner.
Provide required data and statistics to the partnership via the psychotherapy liaison partner on an annual basis.
Ensure timely completion of all necessary documentation.
General
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times in line with GDPR and professional ethical standards.
Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills.
Manage own time effectively, including timekeeping and administrative tasks.
Adhere to all Imperial College Health Centre policies and procedures.
