Position:

Cold Store Operative

Responsible To:

Cold Store Manager

Purpose of Position:

Assist the Cold Store Manager to ensure the smooth running of the cold store.

Please Note - The Role of Cold Store Operative is Work Within a Freezer.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Ensure daily cold store temperatures are checked and logged. Ensure all goods received and despatched meet quality standards including temperature checks, quality and quantity. Ensure all pallets located in the mobile raking are secure. Ensure all relevant stock movement information is passed to the operations room for processing. Conduct and control regular store physical stock checks. Load and unload delivery and collection vehicles. Ensure daily checks are completed on reach trucks and electric hand pallet trucks. Report all issues relating to the cold store, health and safety or operational to the Cold Store Manager. Ensure all pallets received are scanned into the stock system. Ensure the quality hygiene policies are adhered to on a daily basis. Ensure all cold store temperatures are logged and operating properly.

Communication

Liaise with all internal departments on a regular basis as necessary.

Miscellaneous

Ensure that the standard of housekeeping in the working area is high and the working area is safe. Comply with Health and Safety requirements and Risk Assessments. Ensure the highest level of Health & Safety standards are maintained by all staff, visitors and contractors, including use of PPE. Participate in any development and training programs put in place in line with attaining company goals and aims.
