Salary: 29,664, plus 750 car allowance pa

About the role



To work as part of the GDASS Safe Accommodation Team, supporting clients across all risk levels to live a life free from domestic abuse where housing is identified as a need / barrier to safety. Identifying risk and creating support plans based around risk and moving on from domestic abuse. This role is co-located within the Housing Partnership and includes providing training and advocacy, supporting them to understand the dynamics of abuse and signposting / referring into other support services


You will be required to give practical, emotional, support to people who are victims of domestic abuse who are engaged in Housing Pathways. The postholder will be required to work directly with the Housing Partnership, Registered Social Landlords and Local Authorities.


To assess risk and offer immediate safety and support advice before service users are referred for ongoing support.


Work effectively with the wider staff team, other professionals such as social care and service users, carrying out support tasks as directed.


You must also give advice/training to other professionals within the Housing Partnership, Registered Social Landlords and Local Authorities to be able to recognise domestic abuse and how to respond quickly and effectively.

About you




IDVA qualification or domestic abuse equivalent Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Excellent knowledge of domestic abuse legislation and statutory guidance including safeguarding. Excellent organisation and administration skills. Ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, courtesy, tact and diplomacy A good awareness of the diverse needs of customers Experience of managing complex, sensitive customer queries, remaining calm when dealing with emotional, difficult or distressed people.
