Job Description

28 hours per week (to be worked flexibly), 205 days per academic year. *

*Required to be available out of hours e.g., for weekend exercises and Thursday evenings.

Key purpose of role:



SSI:

The main role of the SSI is to grow and develop the CCF, working with the Contingent Commander, CFAVs, and the 7th Infantry Brigade HQ East and Cadet Training Team (CTT). The SSI will be responsible for the day to day running of the CCF, including parade sessions, expeditions, training courses and recruitment working with the Army and Royal Navy.

DEAC:

The SSI will also provide specialist knowledge, support and training for the practical elements of the Duke of Edinburgh Award. They will arrange and lead expeditions and undertake appropriate training and development for students, especially where there is an overlap with the CCF syllabus.

The post-holder will be able to claim MoD remuneration in relation to weekend and holiday working (up to 51 days in each calendar year).

Essential Qualifications:



Senior Non-Commissioned Officer with military background (ex-regular, Reserve Forces) Sound knowledge of military systems and processes GCSE Maths and GCSE English at C or above or equivalent at Level 2 (or willing to obtain) Full clean driving licence/D1 and access to own vehicle Attended appropriate DofE training or willingness to attend within 6 months e.g. Mountain Leader First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain upon appointment
