We are seeking a Legal Compliance & Business Consultant to join our Operations Team and support the development of innovative legal tech solutions for UK legal firms. This hybrid role combines legal compliance, business analysis, and management consulting expertise to bridge the gap between our legal teams and IT teams. You will be responsible for gathering legal and business requirements and translating them into functional product specifications, ensuring all our IT solutions align with UK legal frameworks, compliance standards, and business objectives.
Responsibilities
Legal Compliance & Internal Operations
Ensure operational compliance with UK and international laws, including GDPR, IP, anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, and data privacy, particularly for IT products and services.
Draft, review, and manage a variety of commercial contracts (NDAs, service agreements, licensing contracts) ensuring legal accuracy and alignment with business goals.
Provide legal due diligence and risk assessments for new engagements and product initiatives, managing client workflows and compliance requirements across multiple time zones.
Liaise with external legal advisors and regulatory bodies to ensure ongoing legal compliance, and support internal teams with updates on regulatory changes and best practices.
Support product teams in understanding and implementing compliance requirements into product development for legal tech solutions targeting UK law firms.
Business Analysis & Consulting (Legal Tech Product Focus)
Collaborate with legal stakeholders to gather and analyze their needs and translate them into clear, actionable business requirements for tech development teams.
Act as a key point of contact between legal experts and IT teams, ensuring that legal industry requirements (e.g., case management, client data protection) are effectively incorporated into product specifications and design.
Develop and maintain product roadmaps, user stories, and functional specifications, aligning product features with real-world legal workflows, ensuring the tech solutions meet client expectations.
Assist in the testing and validation of legal tech products, ensuring they meet legal standards and are user-friendly for legal professionals.
Stay updated with the latest trends in UK legal tech, product development, and industry challenges to continually refine and improve product offerings.
Skills
aw degree with a focus on commercial law, intellectual property, or data privacy law, ideally in the UK context.
Proven experience in legal compliance, particularly with GDPR, AML, and UK regulatory requirements.
Business analysis experience, preferably in a legal tech or SaaS environment, with a demonstrated ability to gather and translate requirements into functional product specifications.
Strong track record in contract negotiation, risk management, and client advisory, particularly within commercial or technology sectors.
Exceptional communication skills to act as a bridge between legal professionals and IT teams, ensuring both groups are aligned and working towards common goals.
Ability to manage multiple projects and clients, with a results-driven, hands-on approach.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: 35,000.00-45,000.00 per year
