Due to continued growth, we are looking to appoint a

Commercial Assistant

to support our commercial function from our Liverpool office.

The Role

As Commercial Assistant, you will work closely with the Commercial Manager, finance team, and operational teams to support the commercial administration of live projects. This role is ideally suited to someone who is

commercially minded, numbers-driven

, and keen to develop within a growing business.

You will be responsible for supporting invoicing, quotations, cost control, and commercial documentation, while liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth and accurate commercial processes.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation and issuing of

applications for payment and invoices

Create and manage

quotations

for works and variations Handle

invoice queries

from clients, subcontractors, and internal teams Work alongside Client Commercial Teams to ensure harmony and good communication. Gather, organise, and present

supporting evidence

for claims, variations, and invoicing Work closely with the

finance team

to ensure accurate billing and timely payments Support the commercial and operational teams to achieve

better buying

and cost efficiency Liaise with

subcontractors and suppliers

, ensuring commercial records and documentation are maintained Maintain accurate commercial records using internal systems and software Assist with reporting on costs, progress, and commercial performance

Requirements

Commercially minded with a strong

numerical and analytical approach

Experience in a commercial, finance, or contract support role (construction-related preferred) Confident working with

software and modern IT systems

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Good communication skills and the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop

Desirable

Experience working within

Social Housing

Familiarity with

NHF Schedule of Rates

Experience supporting live construction or maintenance contracts Knowledge of subcontractor management and cost control
