Job Description

Introduction



Production Solutions Group is looking to appoint a talented Commercial & Business Development Manager to work across the group to lead on the commercial growth of the group.

Production Solutions Group work across the entertainment industry, providing Production and Event Management services to theatrical and live events. As well as operating a scenic workshop, building sets for: theatre, events and TV/Film. The group is looking to expand to offer more services / products within the entertainment industry.

Key Duties and Responsibilities



Client Relationship / New Business

Generate new business through existing client relationships.

Develop new client relationships and new business.

Maintain client relationships.

Proactively making calls and driving up new business pipelines.

Commercial Development

Identify existing products that can generate income through competitive tendering and develop leads, systems and processes that secure new revenue.

Lead on development of a commercial model for Group sales.

Work with the Director on the growth of the group, including via Acquisition Opportunities.

Ensure, at all times, that product and commercial developments support and add value to the Group's vision and mission.

Monitor and analyse key data metrics, performance and insights.

Work with other departments to ensure an effective sales plan is in place for existing or new services.

Marketing and Digital

Work with the Marketing Manager to develop the marketing and digital strategy.

Financial Management

Continually and methodically improve the efficiency and effectiveness of income generation and related finance and sales.

In conjunction with the Director support the preparation of annual budgets and monitor in line with commercial targets.

Have oversight of delegated budgets across the Group, supporting the team to manage these, and provide regular monthly reporting to the Director.

Monitor and report against sales targets.

General

Act as an advocate for the Group, communicating efficiently, enthusiastically and confidently about our work.

Be a part of the Group's senior management team, attending regularly departmental head meetings, inputting into the organisational strategy, being involved in project teams and acting as an internal consultant.

Work in line with the company's mission, vision and values.

Offer a high level of client care at all times.

Be available to work occasional evenings and weekends when required along for the group's commitments throughout the year.

Maintain excellent department archives.

Maintain excellent inter group communications.

Adhere to Health and Safety procedures at all times.

Ensure all activities are delivered in accordance with GDPR regulations.

To maintain good relationship with industry bodies representing the group's interest within trade union negotiations or other environment in the sector.

Person Specification



Experience



Essential



Proven working experience in a business development role (or freelance equivalent), within the entertainment production industry.

Demonstrable skills in business planning and strategy, and a track record in successful revenue generation and commercial growth.

Proven commercial experience, including setting and meeting financial targets, and creating new commercial opportunities.

Demonstrable knowledge of marketing and communications in creative and production industries setting, including websites and social media.

Good understanding of set construction.

Excellent relationship skills, able to manage engagement with a broad range of stakeholders, partners, clients and colleagues.

Strong experience of managing tendering / contracting processes and suppliers.

Proven experience of financial management at a senior level.

Excellent verbal and written communication and in-person presentation skills, and IT skills.

Energetic, efficient, resourceful and flexible.

Positive and diplomatic.

Ability to work under pressure/to deadlines.

Organised and a self-starter, with a flair for creative thinking and end-to-end management of development processes.

Able to act as an advocate and inspire others.

Very good working experience with Microsoft systems.

A strong commitment to the mission, values and principles of the Group.

Desirable



Degree or relevant professional qualification.

Interest in theatre, TV and live events.

Knowledge of Vectorworks or other CAD software.

Experience of using Flex Rental Solutions.

Good understanding of technical equipment.

Working knowledge of current Health and Safety Legislation and its application in a theatre / event setting.

Full clean driving license.

First Aid Qualification.
