About Red Radish
We're one of Europe's best-known production caterers, feeding film, TV, festival and touring crews across the UK and beyond. Our kitchens move constantly, our kit takes a hammering, and we'd rather have our own capable engineer in-house than keep calling out contractors.
Where you'll work
Alongside our fantastic new head office, warehouse and workshop in Hook, our projects range from royal funerals and state events to BBC's The Traitors, Glastonbury, Download Festival, and major Netflix and feature-film productions. Most work is across London, Hampshire and the South, with occasional travel further afield when productions or festivals need us. No two weeks are the same.
The Role
We're after a hands-on
Commercial Catering Equipment Engineer
with a proven track record and a calm head under pressure. You'll service and repair kit such as BlueSeal fryers and 10-grid Rationals, help build and support temporary kitchens on-site, and keep our new Hook warehouse in top shape. It will not be 100% engineering though, so we definitely need someone who won't mind jumping in a van to lend a hand with food or equipment deliveries -- part of a fast expanding flexible team, rather than precious engineer!
Key Responsibilities
Service, repair and maintain commercial catering equipment (BlueSeal, Rational, Lincat etc.)
Carry out small electrical and plumbing repairs
Build, support and strip down temporary kitchens on-site
Help with deliveries and load-ins when required
Keep the Hook warehouse spotless, organised and efficient
You'll bring
Proven track record as a commercial catering engineer or service technician
Strong electrical fault-finding and basic plumbing skills
Quick thinking and practical problem-solving to keep kit running in fast-paced, usually pressurised environment
Comfortable driving panel vans and Luton tail-lifts (up to 3.5 t)
Clean UK driving licence and your own transport to base
Fit, strong, high-energy and reliable -- early starts and busy summers don't faze you
Exceptionally tidy and organised -- tools, kit and workspace always in tip-top order
Bonus points for
Gas Safe or electrical qualifications (we're happy to support further training and courses)
Some kind of plumbing qualification
Carpentry skills -we love to build exciting and creative things!
HGV Class 2 or 7.5 t licence
Fork-lift or towing experience
Hours and pace
Our season ebbs and flows. Summers can be bonkers -- festivals and live events while autumn and winter bring steadier TV work and lots of maintenance and prep time in the warehouse. Expect early starts, occasional weekends and plenty of variety.
What's in it for you
40-50 k salary, depending on experience
Free, freshly cooked crew meals
On-site parking at our new Hook base
UK travel and the occasional festival tickets
Ongoing training and a friendly, down-to-earth team
Proper variety -- studio kitchens to muddy festival fields, especially for music lovers

Benefits:
