Skanska, one of the world's leading project development and construction groups, is an inclusive and responsible business that is helping to build a better society. We are looking for a Commercial Director (Projects) to join our Building team.


As the Project Commercial Director, you will be accountable for the successful commercial management of complex, high-value healthcare projects from inception through to completion & handover reporting directly into the Commercial Director of the Building Operating Unit.


This role will require candidates to be geographically mobile.

What you'll do:



Develop and drive the commercial strategy of the Project to ensure profitability and alignment with business objectives Lead contract negotiations and effectively administer contracts ensuring compliance with all relevant stakeholders. Deliver accurate project forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting aligned with internal reporting and processes. As the project commercial lead, you will regularly report to Skanska UK Steering Committee for the project, responsible for conveying the commercial position of all Skanska UK Affiliate companies working on the project. Be accountable for change management processes so changes are proactively agreed upstream with Client and downstream with the supply chain, ensuring agreements are evidenced and instructed in accordance with the contract.

What you'll bring to the role:



Demonstrable experience of managing projects from inception through to completion with a value of between 200m-1bn+. Proven track record of delivering healthcare mega projects (200m+) in the UK or Internationally (desirable). Experience in managing complex stakeholder environments including government, public sector, and wider community groups. Strong commercial acumen with experience in the NEC contract forms and public procurement frameworks. Degree (or equivalent) in commercial, construction management, legal or related discipline (desirable).
