We are now seeking a Commercial Editor to take ownership of three key revenue streams - PTS (Non-session Facebook revenue), emerging verticals and commercial & affiliates. This is a pivotal role combining audience development, editorial leadership, and commercial growth, designed for a highly organised, strategic operator who can bring structure, consistency and ambition to a diverse group of brands.
The ideal candidate brings clarity, ambition, and decisive strategic thinking to a portfolio of brands with significant untapped audience and revenue potential.
What the opportunity looks like
PTS
Scale PTS revenue (non-session Facebook revenue)
Drive original content strategy and commissioning, ensuring formats and editorial decisions are optimised for sustainable revenue growth.
Strengthen coordination with brand editors and streamline freelancer oversight to improve quality, output consistency, and commercial performance.
Vertical Expansion & Innovation
Oversee emerging brand verticals as innovation incubators, testing editorial formats, audience tactics, and monetisation approaches before wider deployment.
Introduce data-backed experimentation frameworks to accelerate growth, diversify engagement, and unlock new monetisable audiences.
Commercial & Affiliate Partnerships
Lead commercial growth through affiliate partnerships (e.g., Amazon, BBC), ensuring content quality, editorial compliance, and strategic alignment with brand integrity.
Revamp legacy deal content, eliminating outdated or misaligned material while implementing a refreshed, ROI-focused affiliate approach.
Drive ideation and production of high-intent affiliate journalism, balancing audience value with commercial opportunity and long-term trust metrics.
Skills and experience we'd like you to have
Strong commercial maturity, with the ability to partner effectively with Editorial and other indirect teams to translate business objectives into revenue-driving strategies.
Advanced data literacy, with the ability to interrogate platform performance, spot revenue drivers, and translate insights into strategy.
Forward-thinking and innovation-led, bringing a proactive approach to experimentation, ideation, and the development of new editorial and revenue opportunities.
A proven track record of uniting editorial excellence with commercial imperatives, ensuring growth targets are met without compromising brand voice, trust, or audience value.
Demonstrated ability to elevate content standards at scale, reducing formulaic, low-value output and championing originality, editorial rigour, and formats that drive long-term, sustainable audience and revenue growth.
Deep understanding of youth audiences, digital culture and platform dynamics.
Demonstrable leadership potential, with a clear and direct communication style that enables teams to deliver consistently high-quality execution.
