Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Commercial Analyst to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting business decisions through financial and commercial analysis within the hard landscaping industry, with a focus on pricing, rebates accounting, and profitability. You will be responsible for analysing market trends, evaluating business performance, and providing insights that drive strategic initiatives. This is a new role and has opportunity to grow with the group. The right candidate must be able to demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of management accounting with relevant experience desirable in manufacturing costing and Project work (including tasks relating to Cashflows)

Duties

Financial & Commercial Analysis

- Analyse product-level profitability and customer account performance.

- Evaluate sales trends and margin performance across landscaping materials and

services.

- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes.

- Develop financial models to assess commercial scenarios and rebate structures.

-Prepare monthly sales data to sales team

Rebate Accounting

- Track and reconcile supplier and customer rebates.

- Ensure accurate accounting and reporting of rebate accruals and claims.

- Collaborate with finance and sales team to validate rebate agreements.

- Provide insights on rebate impact to profitability and pricing decisions.

-Manage the buying group intranet messages and upload/download

Reporting & Insights

- Prepare commercial reports and dashboards for senior stakeholders.

- Ensure data accuracy and high-quality reporting for decision-making.

- Track KPIs including sales volume, margin, rebate recovery, and customer performance.

- Develop and maintain dashboards using tools such as Excel and Power BI to visualise key performance indicators.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment on project objectives.

- Manage projects effectively, ensuring timely delivery of insights and reports.

- Prepare comprehensive reports using Visio to illustrate findings and recommendations.

- Provide support in business analysis activities, contributing to the overall improvement of operational efficiency.

Strategic Support

- Assist in shaping pricing strategies.

- Conduct market and competitor analysis specific to landscaping products.

- Partner with sales, marketing, and procurement teams to answer commercial questions.

Systems & Tools

- Maintain and update ERP/CRM systems with key commercial and rebate data.

- Use tools such as Excel, Access Insights and Power BI for data analysis and visualisation.

Stakeholder Engagement

- Work closely with directors and managers to provide financial advice.

- Participate in cross-functional projects and business partnering initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential Skills

- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, formulas and data capture)

- Recognised qualification such as CIMA or ACCA with focus on Performance Management

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

- Excellent communication and presentation skills

- Commercial awareness and strategic thinking.

- Understanding of rebate accounting and financial reconciliation.

- Proven experience in a Financial analyst role or similar position with a strong focus on data analysis skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 50,000.00-60,000.00 per year
