Job summary
Reporting to the NS&I Head of Commercial Finance, the role of Commercial Finance Analyst is part of the wider NS&I finance function. We are a small, collaborative team at the heart of NS&I working to support the delivery of NS&I's strategic and operational objectives.
This role will support the Head of Commercial Finance, to deliver a high quality, effective and value-adding financial management service for NS&I providing comprehensive financial support, analysis, advice and guidance at all levels of the business to support robust, value-adding decision making and delivery of strategic objectives and the management of financial performance across an agreed portfolio of Client Accounts.
The role-holder will support a portfolio of Clients to deliver value add, financial partnering providing commercial insights; and will conduct financial data analysis, supporting client presentation confidently, presenting findings highlighting potential risk and opportunities. The role will involve supporting and working across the business with agreed Finance and Non-Finance stakeholders.
The role-holder will support as necessary in activities such as investment appraisal, analysis of the Business to Business (B2B) operating model and reporting. The role will involve work closely with colleagues across the business such as the Financial Control Unit and Project Team. The role will have exposure to Corporate planning, P&L forecasting and budgeting, supporting the wider finance team as required.

Essential experience
Experience of developing and delivering financial models
Experience of making recommendations and influencing people to deliver business goals.
Strong communication skills, with ability to communicate complex information to non-finance colleagues across the business.
Strong team player, able to build effective relationships with key stakeholders.
Essential qualifications
Fully Qualified Consultative Committee Accountancy Bodies (CCAB) with significant post qualification experience.
Essential skills
Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret complex commercial information and determine the business implications.
Strong computer skills with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience of planning and budgeting tools.
Essential technical knowledge
Experience of working in Financial Services.
Experience of working in Public Sector, particularly with the Central Government financial framework.

In your application you will be asked to provide the following
An outline of your career history and qualifications with your key responsibilities and achievements.
A 500-word Personal statement highlighting your experience in developing and delivering financial models and your experience in making recommendations and influencing people to deliver business goals.

In the event we receive many applicants, applications will be sifted first on the Personal Statement. Only those that meet the minimum acceptable score for this criteria will qualify for the full sift and be considered for interview.
If shortlisted, you will be invited to attend a 1 hour panel interview via video call.
As part of the interview process you will be sent a 30-minute excel test. It will be designed to show us your strong computer skills with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience of planning and budgeting tools.
Interviews will take place on w/c 14th July 2025.
