The

Commercial Finance Business Partner

will play a pivotal role in driving strategic decision-making. They will act as the bridge between finance, commercial and operational teams, providing insightful analysis, financial guidance, and performance support to help shape business outcomes. This is a high-impact role in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a responsibility to influence senior stakeholders.




The Role at a Glance





Location: Slough Trading Estate, Slough, SL1 4AY (some travel required)



Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week



Salary: Up to 80,000




What You'll Be Doing





Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking for regulated and commercial activities Analyze cost drivers, asset performance, and service delivery metrics to identify efficiency opportunities Develop financial models for capital investment, asset lifecycle planning, and regulatory submissions Support pricing strategies and contract negotiations with commercial clients Monitor regulatory compliance impacts on financial performance and advise on mitigation strategies Deliver clear, actionable insights to non-finance stakeholders through dashboards and presentations Contribute to sustainability and innovation initiatives by evaluating financial viability and ROI



What We're Looking For






Demonstrated experience in commercial finance, financial planning & analysis (FP&A) and business partnering, ideally within utilities, infrastructure, or environmental services Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks relevant to the water and waste industry (e.g., Ofwat, Environment Agency) and their financial implications Advanced analytical and financial modelling skills, with a proven ability to interpret complex data and drive strategic insights Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams Proficiency in financial systems and tools, including Microsoft Excel; experience with business intelligence platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is advantageous Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience A proactive mindset with a commitment to sustainability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
