We're proud to have achieved Great Place To Work status for three years running - and to be recognised among the UK's Best Workplaces in Manufacturing, Production & Transportation.
But it's about so much more than badges to us, it's about being recognised by our people for the continuous work we do to do better for them.
About Our Opportunity
We're looking for a Commercial Finance Business Partner to join our Commercial Finance team -- a key role supporting a large, multi-site operation through insight, challenge, and strategic financial leadership. This is a highly visible position where you'll work closely with senior management, commercial teams, and operational leaders to deliver accurate reporting, meaningful analysis, and forward-looking financial modelling.
You'll play a key part in shaping decisions that influence profitability, efficiency, and long-term growth. As the business continues to evolve, this is a fantastic opportunity to be at the centre of that journey -- helping drive improved performance, stronger processes, and greater commercial understanding across the organisation.
What You Will Be Doing
In this role, you'll provide full finance business partnering support across several key operational areas, ensuring robust financial management and insightful analysis that drives effective decision-making .You'll lead the month-end process, preparing and reviewing journals and management reports for both operational leaders and Board-level stakeholders. You'll oversee the accuracy of pricing, inter-depot charging, and margin analysis, ensuring consistent financial controls and commercial integrity.
Working alongside buyers, trading teams, and operational managers, you'll analyse performance, forecast results, and model the financial impacts of pricing changes, contracts, and investment opportunities. Your work will support negotiations with major suppliers and underpin long-term business planning and capacity modelling. You'll play a key role in contract evaluation and performance review -- assessing pricing assumptions, cost-to-serve, logistics routes, and processing requirements to ensure each agreement delivers sustainable value. You'll also conduct sensitivity and "what-if" scenario analysis to assess market fluctuations, volume changes, or route-to-market adjustments.
Beyond the day-to-day, you'll drive continuous improvement in finance processes, reporting capability, and business understanding. You'll develop and refine management information, build financial capability across teams, and provide professional advice on financial control and process improvement. You'll also support senior finance leadership in evaluating new commercial opportunities and investment projects, providing financial modelling, market analysis, and insight to support strategic decisions.
About You
You're a commercially minded finance professional who thrives on partnering with the business to deliver insight and influence outcomes. You combine strong technical finance capability with an analytical mindset and the confidence to challenge and guide senior stakeholders. You're experienced in management reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, multi-site environment. You take ownership of your work, bring clarity to complex information, and translate financial data into actionable recommendations.
You're collaborative, proactive, and naturally curious -- always looking for better ways to deliver value and drive continuous improvement. Experience managing or developing others would be an advantage, as would a background in a commercially focused finance role. This is a diverse and rewarding opportunity to make a tangible impact on business performance, develop your leadership skills, and play a key role in the continued evolution of our finance function.
