Location: Office based role in Skipton, North Yorkshire

Reports to: Commercial Broker / Managing Director

Employment Type: Permanent / Full time

Salary: Entry level 24,000 p/a basic salary, plus incentives

About the Role



We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented

Commercial Finance Consultant

to join our growing finance team. This role is essential in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of our commercial finance processes. You will assist Brokers and management in preparing documentation, managing client and lender communications, and ensuring compliance and accuracy throughout the finance journey.

This position offers excellent exposure to the world of commercial finance and the opportunity to build a strong career in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The Commercial Consultant role is essentially an administration role with on-the-job training with the goal of natural progression into the Commercial Broker role. The expected timeframe for achieving Broker status is 12 months.

You will be an integral part of a small and growing business. Personality, adaptability, common sense, initiative, honesty, integrity, career aspirations and a desire to grow with the business, are imperative to this role.

Key Responsibilities



Provide administrative support to the Commercial Finance team in managing loan and finance applications from enquiry to completion. Prepare and collate client documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and regulatory standards. Maintain and update CRM systems and client records. Liaise with clients, lenders, solicitors, and other stakeholders to track progress and resolve queries efficiently. Assist in preparing credit submissions, lender proposals, and supporting financial information. Conduct basic financial checks and data entry to support underwriting and approval processes. Monitor application pipelines and produce regular status reports for the team. Ensure that all required documentation is received, stored, and processed in line with company procedures. Support consultants with diary management, meeting coordination, and correspondence. Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency within the department.

Skills & Experience Required



Previous administrative experience within finance, banking, brokerage, or professional services is essential. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, and Outlook) and CRM systems. Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a busy environment. Numerate, analytical, and comfortable working with financial data. Team player with a proactive, "can-do" attitude is essential. Understanding of commercial lending or financial products (desirable but not essential -- training provided).
