This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join the highly respected Commercial Finance team at River Island. You will help manage the cost base and guide all stakeholders to help achieve our financial and non-financial objectives.

This is the role:

Strategic Financial Planning: + Lead the development of financial models, rolling forecasts, with added responsibility for owning the budget setting process for your stakeholders.
+ Provide strategic recommendations to optimize revenue growth. Becoming a trusted Business Partner to help identify and manage risks and opportunities
Financial Analysis: + Conduct in-depth financial analysis on several areas including pricing, buying and cost modelling to inform business decisions to maximise profitability.
+ Evaluate the financial impact of new initiatives and investments, raise the profile on decisions and help guide stakeholders to ensure they have all the options clearly available
Reporting and Compliance: + Ensure the period end process is complete for your area (Opex and Capex), the Management accounts reflect an accurate view on performance and all key drivers of performance are understood
+ Prepare clear, concise, accurate and timely financial reports for all stakeholders, but with a 'so-what' outcome and 'what does this mean looking forwards', rather than just purely this is what has happened
+ Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards
Cross-Functional Collaboration: + Business partnering support across a wide range of stakeholders. This is a vital part of the role. Be truly commercial which will include partnering across other commercial finance areas
+ Support the development of business strategies that align with overall organizational goals
Team Leadership: + Lead and mentor junior finance professionals to enhance their skills and performance
+ Deputise for the Senior Commercial Finance Manager when required to do so

What we're looking for:

A qualified chartered accountant with a minimum of 3 years PQE working in a Commercial finance or Financial Planning and Analysis role Be commercially curious, draw conclusions and propose recommendations Confident, approachable and with an attention to detail highlighting your problem-solving skills A balanced approach to challenge at all stakeholder levels based on accurate and clear analysis with the support of other relevant insight Proven track record in driving business results through financial insights and strategic planning Advanced Excel skills with experience of building accurate financial models Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience of using ERP systems (e.g. Oracle) and other financial software applications
