Job Overview


To ensure payments are made to employees and workers and that all HMRC requirements are maintained by Railsafe Group. Maintain day to day finance records for Railsafe Group and make sure all employees are aligned with IR35 requirements as per HMRC guidelines. To manage and make sure accounts team are functioning and carrying out day to day duties correctly. Lead and develop current Accounts team.

Responsibilities



Team Leadership

: Manage and mentor the finance operations team, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities. Ensure team performance aligns with company goals.

Month-End Close:

Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring that all financial data is accurately reconciled and reported in a timely manner. This includes journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.

Financial Operations Management

: Oversee the day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll, and banking processes, ensuring they run efficiently and accurately.

Billing & Revenue Management

: Oversee billing cycles, subscription renewals, and ensure accurate revenue recognition in line with accounting standards.

Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

: Monitor and optimise cash flow to ensure the business has sufficient working capital for operational needs.

Process Improvement & Automation

: Identify inefficiencies in financial processes and implement improvements, including the automation of manual tasks using appropriate financial tools and software.

Compliance & Regulatory Reporting

: Ensure all financial operations comply with local tax, regulatory, and legal requirements. Lead efforts around any audits or tax filings, including VAT submission.

Financial Controls

: Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial controls to ensure compliance with policies and minimise risk.

Vendor & Contract Management

: Oversee vendor relationships, ensuring contracts and terms are optimised and payments are managed in line with cash flow planning.

Financial Analysis:

Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and insights to support strategic initiatives and business decision-making.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

: Work closely with the sales and customer success teams to ensure alignment of financial operations with business needs, especially regarding subscription billing and customer payments. Full management of Factoring facility Liaising with external accountant to make sure HMRC process and payments are aligned Regular financial meetings to be held with the directors to discuss financial performance Identify training required within the team A clear plan at looking for ways for reduction of outgoing costs for the business Financial advise and leadership to assist the directors with development of the business

Experience



Accounting Qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) 2+ years of experience in financial controlling, accounting, or a similar role, preferably in Construction/Rail/Agency Minimum AAT Level 3 Strong knowledge of financial processes and accounting principles. Experience managing finance teams with a focus on developing skills and improving performance. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial software. (Xero preferred) confident in presenting clear financial narratives Experience in management accounts, KPI reporting and financial control Commercially sharp, detail focused and proactive Solid understanding of revenue recognition rules. Understanding of Factoring and Payroll Services Excellent communication skills Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Understanding and management of the Factoring facility utilised by the business

Pay: 34,599.41-80,649.52 per year
