Floor.Co North East is a local family run business specialising in commercial and domestic flooring. Our Director has grown and developed the company from his own experience of floor laying, form starting as a young apprentice floor layer himself to later on in life setting up Floor.Co as his own successful business.

Floor.Co was established in 2016 and provides services across the North East covering all types of flooring, from carpets, laminates, luxury vinals and solid wood. We work on local domestic jobs and large-scale contracts with local authorities and other commercial organisations.

Floor.Co has a showroom and warehouse in Lyndhurst in Gateshead, and a separate showroom in Birtley. It's an exciting time for our company as we move through a new growth phase, with opportunities for staff team members and new commercial contracts within the Gateshead area.

The Role:

We are looking to recruit a new fulltime Commercial Floor Layer who will prioritise all our commercial contracted work including schools and public buildings, and occasional domestic jobs.

The newly appointed Commercial Floor Layer will play a crucial role in the construction and renovation of contracted flooring work by installing, repairing, and maintaining flooring in a wide range of buildings and structures.

This role may also be responsible for preparing surfaces and removing old flooring.

Most of our commercial work is carried out in the local area and is contracted by Local Authorities, and we hope this area of business will continue to grow over the next couple of years.

The Commercial Floor Layer will work with a variety of materials, including carpet, carpet tiles, vinyl's, safety flooring including 100mm side formed skirting.

In this post you must have a strong understanding of the properties of different materials and the ability to work with precision and attention to detail.

In domestic work you will be expected to work with carpets, vinyl's, LVTs, woods and laminates.

In this role you may work as part of a team but more generally you will work independently, and you will support our apprenticeship scheme by mentoring and supporting young apprentice staff.

Pay: 35,000.00 per year
