Summary
As a Commercial Gas Engineer, you will be responsible for providing service, maintenance, and breakdown support for a wide range of commercial gas appliances and heating systems. You will work across various client sites. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge, a strong focus on safety, and the ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Service and Maintenance: Conduct Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on commercial boilers, water heaters, air heaters, and associated plant room equipment.
Fault Finding and Repair: Utilise advanced diagnostic skills to accurately identify faults on commercial gas systems, controls, and pipework, carrying out effective and timely repairs.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure all work is completed in strict adherence to current Gas Safe regulations (Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998) and all relevant health and safety standards.
Installation: Undertake the installation and commissioning of new commercial heating appliances and pipework as required.
Documentation: Complete all necessary job sheets, service reports, and safety certificates accurately and submit them promptly using a company-provided tablet.
Client Relations: Act as a professional representative of the company, communicating clearly with clients on-site to provide updates and technical advice.
On-Call Rota: Participate in the company's emergency on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support to our clients.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Gas Safe Registered: Must hold current registration with the Gas Safe Register.
Core Commercial ACS Qualifications:
COCN1 or CODNCO1 (Core Commercial Gas Safety)
CIGA1 (Indirect Fired Commercial Appliances)
CORT1 (Overhead Radiant Heaters)
ICPN1 (Installation of Commercial Pipework)
TPCP1/1A (Testing & Purging of Commercial Pipework up to and over 1m)
Experience: A proven track record in a similar role, with extensive experience servicing and repairing commercial heating systems.
Driving Licence: A full, clean UK driving licence is essential.
Desirable Skills
Commercial catering qualifications (COMCAT).
OFTEC or LPG qualifications.
Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS).
NVQ/City & Guilds in a relevant mechanical or plumbing discipline.
