We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Gas Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas systems across various settings. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with practical skills in welding, carpentry, and the use of power tools to contribute to essential infrastructure projects while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
The successful applicant should have a good knowledge of both domestic and commercial plumbing and heating installations and should ideally have a good knowledge of Natural Gas, LPG and Oil-fired systems.
About the position
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Service and Installation Engineer to work within our service installation and maintenance team, reporting directly to the Branch Manager. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, plumbing, and safety regulations. The successful applicant should have proven experience as a Gas Engineer or in a similar role involving gas systems installation and maintenance.
they should also be experienced in all forms of planned and reactive maintenance on all heating and hot water boilers and package burners, testing and purging of gas installation pipework and works on associated systems i.e. pumps, valves, fans etc.
In addition, the ideal candidate would preferably have experience of domestic and commercial boiler and plant room installations and be capable of installations using soldered and press fitting systems along with screwed steel pipe work. They will ideally be capable of wiring small installations along with electrical fault finding on systems.
The position is not limited to gas and oil works but may include plumbing, ventilation and other areas of plantroom maintenance not necessarily listed.
Qualifications and requirements:
Full clean UK driving licence.
Enhanced DBS check.
Holding a minimum of the following Gas qualifications: Domestic CCN1, CENWAT, CKHB1, DAH1, HTR1, Commercial i.e. COCDN1, CIGA1, CORT1, CPA1, DAH1, ICPN1, HTR1, TPCP1 and CONGLP1PD LPG Changeover.
Ideally the applicant will hold a minimum of the following plumbing qualifications.
City and Guilds level 3 and Unvented water regulations (G3).
Must be willing to travel when required.
Must be willing to stay away when required (with notice).
Preferred qualifications and requirements:
Industrial Gas, Oil or plumbing experience or qualifications.
UKATA asbestos qualifications.
PASMA scaffold tower qualifications.
IPAF mobile elevated working platform qualifications.
