We have an exciting new opportunity for a motivated Lawyer to join our Commercial Litigation team, led by . Based from our Southampton office, with a blend of home and office working available to offer support and flexibility, this is an excellent opportunity to work with household name clients as part of an ambitious team.

You will join highly successful lawyers in Southampton, supporting the wider Commercial Litigation team, who have a national coverage. Our Commercial Litigation team shares work and resources seamlessly across locations, giving variety and opportunity to out lawyers to gain a range of different experiences. The role at this level provides an opportunity to develop a broad and interesting caseload, including commercial contractual disputes, professional negligence claims, insolvency litigation, fraud, banking disputes and procurement, with the objective of having a more focused practice as you progress. You will be advising clients of varying size and complexity and working with inhouse legal teams, acting for clients in both claimant and defendant roles. We\'re keen to enable you to expand your skills and confidence so that you can progress to greater ownership of more complex matters over time. Equally, we\'ll focus on your client relationship building skills from the outset, ensuring you have plenty of opportunity to spend time getting know our clients. Our client relationships are incredibly important to us, and you will be encouraged to develop strong and lasting professional relationships with new and existing clients and gain the insights and expertise needed to offer hands on, practical advice to them on an ongoing basis.

What we\'re looking for

With experience of working on a variety of commercial litigation matters in a similar or larger sized firm, you may be a Solicitor, Associate or Chartered Legal Executive looking for the next step in your career, seeking to work with larger and more complex clients. You will be used to working with larger companies on commercial litigation matters and have a good awareness of the kinds of issues which can arise. We consider ourselves to be a high performing, welcoming and inclusive team and your first-class communication skills will enable you to become a key member. You will be motivated to seek to expand your skills and knowledge, being keen to learn from those around you and sharing your knowledge in return. You are proactive and positive, seeking to develop your skills with clients, and to increase your understanding of the commercial context of their business in order to provide the right advice at the right moment.
