RESPONSIBLE FOR:



Driving the Commercial Performance of the Sandcastle Waterpark supporting its overall business goals by formulating and driving Commercial strategies which drives increased profitability and guest experience.

The Recruitment and Management of an efficient team that can deliver our commercial strategy driving RPC, Yield and also managing the budgeted expenditure to drive margins and overall profitability

COMMUNICATIONS:



The post holder will be required to communicate with the Senior Operations, Deputy Manager & supervisors other Heads of Departments and outside contractors and suppliers.

FUNCTION:



To manage and drive day to day Commercial operations to include Admissions, Food and Beverage, Retail alongside managing our 3rd party partners for Photography, games & lockers

Analysis and understanding of performance data such as SPH, Yield & KPI to help make informed decisions to achieve targets while managing of expenditure such payroll budgets and cost of sales.

DUTIES SHALL INCLUDE:



a) Work with Commercial Ops Director & Senior Operations Manager to produce Commercial Strategy and communicate to team to ensure targets are achieved.

b) To manage the safe and effective operation of the commercial department ensuring all Health & Safety measures controls and documentation is in place in accordance with BOCL H & S and Food Safety policy.

c) Recruit, Manage and Develop all departmental managers in the delivery and long term development of commercial strategy ensuring you support them in the daily management of their teams

d) To implement & deliver engaging departmental training to ensure that you have a well-trained team to deliver commercial targets.

e) Actively develop the department's leadership team's knowledge of best practices ensuring they take ownership and pride in their work and are trained for the function they perform.

f) Ensure that all Food Safety guidelines are adhered to following BOCL Food safety policy and procedures at all times.

g) Ensure all team are trained and understand all BOCL H & S policies and procedures and are adhered to at all times.

h) Ensure all Commercial spends maximised and that the offer is constantly reviewed and pricing/promotions produce the optimum return.

i) Champion the needs of all guest all the time and seek new ideas to enhance product and experience.

j) Closely monitor daily, weekly and monthly spend, revenue and cost performance taking actions as necessary to deliver profit objectives.

SPH

Total Secondary revenue

Gross Margins

Labour costs

Other operational expenditure

l) Proactively Manage third party partners and work on development strategies to bring in new revenue streams.

m) Work with Senior Operations & Marketing Manager to develop Yield Strategy based on data .

n) Working with the procurement policy to ensure that our suppliers deliver best quality and best price and all produce is sourced in an ethical manner.

o) In addition to the above, the Commercial Manager will be part of the senior leadership team (SLT) and as such will be expected to be part of the Incident Manager Operational team, this includes the function of performing a duty manager role during operational times on a rota basis.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:



a) Experience in working in a large visitor Attraction or high volume hospitality environment

b) Experience and knowledge of best-in-class Commercial practices and systems.

c) Excellent in influencing and relationship management

d) Strong ability to measure performance by developing, coaching and supporting a leadership team.

e) Highly developed interpersonal communications skills and cultural sensitivity.

f) Strong project & change management skills - able to implement changes which add value and benefit to the business.

g) Ability to demonstrate problem solving and being solution focused.

h) IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.

i) Level 3 Food Safety or above.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 40,000.00-45,000.00 per year
