At Southern Housing, we're seeking a

Commercial Manager

to join our dynamic team and help drive the successful delivery of our Development & Sales programme.


Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you'll provide strategic support across procurement, contract negotiations, and cost control--ensuring robust frameworks and partnerships are in place to mitigate risk and deliver value. You'll collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners, playing a key role in securing the commercial success of our ambitious housing initiatives.

What you'll be doing



Providing construction procurement and framework support that will influence the delivery of projects and the overall programme. Work on the negotiation of constructions contracts and development agreements. Assist by providing advice on cost information provided by consultants. Ensure that risk registers are developed and maintained, as appropriate. Reviewing and negotiating cost sum analyses, for inclusion in build contracts. Support and advise on the appropriateness of proposed development and contracting partners, advising on contractual safeguards such as bonds, PCGs and building warranties.

What you'll need



A track record of operating within a large and complex organisation with experience in delivering on financial analysis and modelling expertise to aid the evaluation of major capital projects. Experience in negotiating and managing build contracts and cost sum analyses. Understanding of a range of procurement routes and forms of contract Commercial awareness. Knowledge of investment considerations and financial appraisal within the development sector. Good communication skills, both orally and written, using a range of techniques and tools to convey messages.
