Equans is looking for a Commercial Manager to join the team in Manchester on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
The role is covering 3 healthcare sites: predominately Manchester Joint Hospital, and Havering Hospital Romford and Queen Mary's Hospital Roehampton. Travel and on site working is required.
The role heavily involves Lifecycle Interface, the post holder will support operational teams across the 3 sites in four key areas in respect of lifecycle assets:
Supporting commercially the technical team in managing "standard" lifecycle obligations around the preparation and implementation of a lifecycle plan to procure compliance with Availability, Performance Standards, Laws, Good Industry Practice, Condition B etc
Managing the consequences of potential or actual Unavailability risk
Managing the consequences of an incident where there is no potential or actual unavailability risk
Managing subcontractors through the establishment and agreement of robust subcontract terms and conditions of contract
Once processes have been identified at Manchester, the successful candidate will then be required to roll-out similar processes in respect of two similar contracts in and around London. The Commercial Manager will be expected to identify other initiatives which can add vale and/or derisk Equans in respect of its PFI lifecycle obligations on all 3 hospitals.
The Commercial Manager will manage numerous stakeholder relationships, including those with Project Co and Hard FM Contractor representatives and Equans' operational teams running the contracts. As part of the role, the Commercial Manager will be required to interact with managers of all levels both internally and an externally to ensure compliance. Senior level dialogue and communication skills are essential in fulfilling this role.
What will you deliver?
Supporting the Lifecycle Management Team in the satisfaction of contract and company lifecycle risk objectives
Taking the commercial lead with Project Co / Hard FM Contractor directly to identify and resolve claims arising from the lifecycle interface
Negotiating, on an equitable basis, internally and externally to ensure that the business is not exposed to risk
Leading where required in dispute resolution activity in these contracts in respect of lifecycle and/or having a thorough input into the dispute resolution activity
Dealing reactively in mitigation key risk areas as they arise in a timely manner
Working within the operating environment to ensure Equans' Code of Conduct is thoroughly understood, adhered to and promoted across the business to ensure safe, compliant and consistent working practices
Behaving with integrity and demonstrating professional image at all times. To always do what is right

Who are we looking for?
Suitable commercial experience within social infrastructure sector construction or services contracts
Understanding of complex PFI interfaces among Project Cos and Sub-Contractors is essential
Educated to degree/ diploma level
Understanding and practical application of commercial English law and willingness and ability to read and understand complex interface agreements
Skilled negotiator with proven experience in a commercial environment
Sound understanding of risk analysis/management
Excellent financial acumen with an ability to analyse complex data and documentation with accuracy
PC Literate with knowledge of MS applications e.g. Word, Excel
This role includes a DBS Standard check therefore ability to pass is essential.
