The Role
We are looking for an experienced Account Manager/Commercial Manager, preferably within the horticulture industry to join our team based in South Lincolnshire. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to play a fundamental role in the significant growth planned for the business over the next few years.
Working closely with the Head of Commercial/Commercial team, the M&S Commercial Manager will be responsible for the management of this key customer through strong working relationships, understanding of their requirements and delivery of exceptional customer service. You will be involved in the creation and delivery of the annual sales plan, working with Planning, Operational and Growing teams, to effectively manage customer expectations and lead on the development of new growth/product opportunities.
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
Be the primary liaison between Bridge Farm and M&S acting as the go to contact for key customer contacts managing day to day, resolve account specific issues, in season range planning, forward range planning for each season and peaks
Build strong working relationships with key M&S contacts including the buyer, technologist, product developer and supply chain contacts
Ensure all customer metrics and service levels are met and exceeded
Manage and update key customer systems/websites
Responsible for analysing sales data, customer KPIs and market trends to implement strategies to drive growth both in season and for future ranges
Carry out all product costings and quotations to agreed margins and specifications with full responsibility for the P/L of the account
Work with NPD to develop new ranges to customer timescales and requirements completing all required customer documentation
Lead season reviews with customers and provide recommendations and strategy for upcoming seasons
Build full internal planning documents by season
Work with key internal teams to deliver successful and seamless product supply covering weekly planning meetings, crop walks, daily huddle and other meetings as required
Manage the purchasing and timely delivery of 3rd party plants required by customer
Support Head of Commercial as required
Weekend working as required during peak business periods
Experience and Essential Skills:
Computer literate with strong spreadsheet analysis skills and working with large number sets
Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
Strong ability to analyse data helping to make informed commercial decisions
Good presentation skills to communicate in an engaging and impactful way with different levels of the business internally and with customers
Be a proactive, self-motivated team player able to work autonomously or as part of the wider team.
Flexible outlook and ability to cope with significant change.
Effective at working under pressure, managing priorities and using time efficiently.
A positive, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach.
Excellent communication skills and good attention to detail.
Experience of managing multiple customers and deadlines and prioritising workload
