The Commercial Manager will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of all commercial aspects of the Immingham Eastern Ro-Ro Terminal Project including all procurement / estimating / main contract administration / subcontract administration / cost and value reporting / change management and general commercial support to the project team.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract administration of the main contract and direct liaison with the client regarding any main contract commercial/contractual matters
Management of the project commercial / procurement and estimating teams
Leading the estimation of the Stage 2 (Construction Stage) estimate
Overseeing all procurement activities and assisting the procurement team in agreement of contracts and subcontracts
Overseeing the administration of all subcontracts and design contracts on the project and ensuring the commercial team administer Subcontracts in accordance with the necessary terms and conditions of contract
Managing main contract change management
Manage the main contract application for payment process and ensure liaison with the client upon agreement of such payments
Ensure the client is provided sufficient auditable information for all defined costs and manage the agreement of defined costs
Manage the disallowed cost processes under the main contract, and ensure processes are managed correctly under subcontracts
Assist in the production of main contract notifications such EWNs / communication. NCEs etc.
Attend various commercial / contractual meetings with the client including EWN meetings / change control meetings / monthly cost and value reports / monthly commercial meetings
Manage the projects main designer contract ensuring assistance is provided to the design team on cost information of design
Work with the estimating manager and specialist suppliers to review and update the construction stage estimate in accordance with the latest design
Manage the monthly cost and value reporting for the client and internally
Manage the cash flow forecast and presentation to the senior management team
Provide the construction team support on commercial and contractual matters
Provide the project team with support on requirements of NEC4 contracts and subcontracts
Ensure compliance with the contractual requirements of the projects
Costing of value engineering proposals and assisting in the assessment of changes to the accepted programme
Preparation of contractual correspondence and responding to communications from the project manager
Technical Skills and Competencies:
The role will require the post holder to have excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, and to be able to report at management level
Experience of working NEC 3 or 4 contracts (various forms)
Experience working for a Main Contractor on large Civil Engineering / infrastructure projects (marine works preferable)
Good understanding of EU and UK legislative requirements affecting procurement
Analytical mind and logical problem solving
Able to work as part of a team

High degree of commercial awareness
Computer skills - Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer
Qualifications, Certifications and Experience:
Relevant experience in commercial management
Holds a CSCS Card
Educated to degree level or equivalent in a numerate or commercial discipline
