Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and commercially astute Commercial Manager to join our leadership team. You will play a key role in managing the financial and contractual performance of projects, overseeing risk, and ensuring profitability across our projects and service departments portfolio. This role demands a proactive, organised individual with a strong commercial background in the M&E or construction sector, ideally with experience working with facilities management companies and end-users..

Key Responsibilities
Oversee all commercial aspects of mechanical and electrical projects from tender through to final account.
Support pre-construction and bid teams with cost planning, tender reviews, and risk evaluation.
Manage contract administration including JCT, NEC, and bespoke contracts.
Agree and manage client framework agreements and maintenance contracts.
Agree supplier and sub contractor terms and conditions .
Lead the preparation, submission, and agreement of applications for payment, variations, and final accounts.
Conduct regular project and maintenance financial reviews to monitor profitability, cash flow, and commercial risk.
Work closely with project and service managers to ensure accurate forecasting and budget control.
Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to support repeat business and smooth commercial operations.
Drive value engineering initiatives and promote cost efficiency across all departments.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations, including insurance and warranties.
Contribute to strategic business planning and assist in the development of internal commercial systems and processes.
Ensure all recuring revenue streams are tied into contracts
Requirements
Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the M&E and facilities management sectors.
Strong knowledge of building services, particularly in the direct to end user and FM markets.
Familiarity with various forms of construction contracts, particularly JCT and NEC.
Excellent financial and commercial acumen with a results-driven approach.
Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Highly organised with strong analytical and reporting abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office and cost management software.
Relevant degree (e.g., Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Commercial Management) or equivalent experience.
