is looking for an experienced

Commercial Plumber

to join our expanding team. This is a new position within our Commercial division, created to meet the growing demand for our services.

The Role



You will be responsible for installing and maintaining a wide range of plumbing and mechanical equipment, from domestic systems to industrial plantrooms. This work will primarily be within the social housing sector, including extra care facilities and properties with vulnerable service users, across a

100-mile radius of our head office in Stoke-on-Trent

. You will be working

as part of a team with a Commercial Gas Installer

to complete the installation works. A key part of this role is to be adaptable and diverse, as you will also be required to perform and support some gas-related installations and maintenance. While your primary focus will be on plumbing, you will also be expected to

support and assist our gas installation team

. A good understanding of commercial gas equipment is essential for this part of the role, but

hands-on gas experience is not required as you will not be expected to work on gas equipment that is live.



You must be willing to

stay away from home when required

, although this is not a frequent occurrence at the moment.

Responsibilities:



Work within your team

to ensure the practical completion of all plumbing and mechanical work. Work directly with the project manager and project delivery administrator to coordinate and deliver projects. Complete the installation and refurbishment of plantrooms, including pipework and water systems.

Read drawings and have a strong technical understanding

to ensure the correct materials are used throughout the project. Ensure that all installation tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standard. Support installations of commercial plumbing systems, including boilers, water heaters, and pipework, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Diagnose and repair plumbing issues promptly, minimising downtime for clients. Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems efficiently. Ensure all plumbing systems comply with current regulations and safety standards. Communicate effectively with clients to explain installation requirements and address any questions or concerns. Ensure that all relevant paperwork/field engineer app is completed for installations and passed without delay to the contract administrator. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge. Provide support in emergency situations to ensure business and operational safety.

Qualifications & Requirements:



The candidate must have

experience in a similar role

.

NVQ in Plumbing

is required.

Water Regulations

or

Unvented Cylinder

qualifications are required.

Gas qualifications are desirable but not essential.

For the right candidate, there is potential to

upskill to obtain gas qualifications during employment

.

Experience with Commercial Plumbing Systems:

Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing equipment and controls.

L8 Awareness

is desirable. A

valid UK driving licence

.

Electrical skills or qualifications

are also desirable.

Knowledge of SFG20

is desirable. Commitment to safety and compliance. Effective communication and customer service skills.

Salary & Benefits:



Basic Pay:

Starting at

30,160 per annum

, plus a

bonus upon practical completion

of projects.

Pay Review:

A pay review will be completed following a successful six month probationary period.

Annual Pay Review:

The business will complete an annual pay review.

Out of Hours Call-Out Rota:

You will be required to participate in a

5/2 on-call rota

. An

out-of-hours retention payment of up to 1,400

will be added to your salary for being on call. Out-of-hours work is paid at

1.5 times your standard hourly rate, on a door-to-door basis

. While you'll be expected to attend any emergency during this time, you will

not be required to work on any gas or electrical equipment unless you are suitably qualified

.

Holiday Entitlement:

You will receive

28 days of holiday entitlement

(including 8 bank holidays). After one year of successful completion, you will receive

1 day of birthday leave per annum

.

Medical & Pension:

You will be enrolled in a company pension scheme after 3 months of employment. After a successful probationary period, you will be enrolled in private medical insurance.

will be provided. You will also be issued with ladders, stepladders and an initial van stock. You will be required to provide your own suitable hand tools and equipment.
