We're looking for a skilled and proactive

Commercial & Project Accountant

to join our Finance team for a fixed-term 12-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to support the Financial Controller in driving forward the Authority's commercial projects, ensuring robust financial management, and contributing to the strategic growth of the organisation.

You will play a key role in developing business cases, analysing commercial ventures, and providing accurate project accounting to support decision-making and ensure the financial health of the Authority.

About the role

In this role, you will:

Support the development of business cases for commercial ventures and internal projects, including investment appraisals and market analysis. Create and maintain financial models to assess new investments and strategic initiatives. Analyse the financial performance of the Authority's commercial ventures. Ensure compliance with internal project management procedures. Lead financial reporting for projects, providing clear and accurate tracking. Support ad-hoc assignments, grant applications, and stakeholder financial analysis.

What We're Looking For

You will be a qualified accountant with a strong track record in commercial or project accounting. You should bring excellent analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

Essential requirements include:

Qualified Professional Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). BA/BSc in Accounting, Business, Finance, or similar discipline. Strong experience in accounting and project finance. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines. Advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
